I was born
and raised in England and got an early start with horses at the age of seven
and was hooked right then and there.
When I moved to America it was evident that there was a need for saddle
fitting services, and in 2000 I launched Saddles101 and since then have never
looked back.
I trained
mainly in the USA, but took my qualifying exams with the Society of Master
Saddlers in 2007, with refresher courses and continuing education courses every
year. I also work with my manufactures
to educate myself more in the art of saddle fitting and repairs whenever I can.
I have seen
first-hand how a properly fitted saddle by a qualified fitter can make a difference
to the horse. It is wonderful to see the
change in the horse’s temperament and movement once they become more
comfortable.
In my
personnel life I have my own equestrian facility where I keep my three horses,
Bordeaux, Cosmo and Ash. All three are
very different breeds and shapes, but all concentrate on the art of Dressage. Prior to my dressage career, I evented other
horses when I lived in Maryland and Virginia.
Along with two Jack Russell Terriers life is always busy, but I wouldn’t
have it any other way.
I look
forward to helping you with all your saddle needs, and in the future, I plan to
incorporate Bridle and Bit Fitting services.
